Jordana Levine
Pronouns: She/her/hers
Major: Communications (TV, Radio, & Film)
Minor: Photo and Video — but I chose not to complete it. I can still offer advice and as to why you don't need to finish a minor to find it beneficial.
Class: January 2021
Positions: Documentation Chair 2019-2020
About Me: As a person, I tell stories through writing, poetry, photography, video editing more. I care about making a change in regard to sexual assault/sexual health, mental health and LGBTQIA+ issues. I will be starting my first full-time job at the end of August 2021. I'll be working as an assistant negotiator for an advertising company in NYC. I learned a lot during my post grad experience. It was hard, but I got through it. I had to figure A LOT out on my own. I worked for a PR agency, edited videos for nonprofits, wrote articles for magazines and babysat. I am going to be living in Hoboken for some time to experience living close to the city.
Barkada’s Impact: I met some of my best friends. Unfortunately, a lot changed over post-grad, but I will always cherish those memories. They were my rock in a lot of tough challenges I faced over college. Barkada gave me my pamilya. It also gave me stability and a chance to explore my Asian identity. It gave me a community.
Advice To My Younger Self: You're stronger than you know. You're braver than you know. What is now will not be forever. Everything you have experienced up until this point is leading you to a better life and giving you the tools to tell your story. Life is hard, but you will prevail.

Ellena Sia
Pronouns: She/her/hers
Major: Digital Arts
Minor: Fine Arts
Class: 2014
Positions: Documentation Chair 2012, Internal Vice President 2013-2014
About Me: Started out working retail and contract roles until I found a job with one of my favorite influencers. Worked at a As Seen On TV company until I landed my current role as a graphic designer for a law firm. On the side I am taking online classes at Parsons to get a graphic design certification. On the personal side, I got married, bought a house (preCOVID thankfully), and just recently had a baby 🥰
Barkada's Impact: Growing up, I didn’t have many Filipino friends. Barkada definitely filled that void! They were my closest friends in school. It’s really amazing to experience all these life milestones together – graduating, achieving career goals, getting married, and becoming homeowners. I’m looking forward to celebrating many more milestones with my Bkads!
Advice To My Younger Self: Be kinder to yourself! Take breaks and make time for hobbies.

Barkada's Impact: I joined Spring 2007 and felt a sense of connection that was really important to me. It was only for a semester but it was significant. During that time of my life, I was really finding integration in my identities - LGBTQIA, 1st Gen, and AANHPI/Filipinx. The affinity that Barkada provided really helped me embraced a sense of myself and it was one of the few fil-am places that embraced my queerness which was refreshing and critical to my identity development.
Advice To My Younger Self: You look good, stop being so mean to yourself.
