Positions: Fundraising Chair, 2013-2015
About Me: Post-grad, I worked at my family's business (steel fabrication shop) for almost two years. Afterwards, I secured a job as a Civil Engineer working at a civil/environmental consulting firm designing infrastructure for clients like schools, airports, and national parks. I started my Master's in Construction Management in 2021 and am slowly working toward obtaining my Professional Engineering license. Outside of my career, I try to make time for hobbies like exploring nature, cosplaying, sewing, and being a plant mom. :)
Barkada’s Impact: Barkada gave me a sense of community and connection to Filipino culture while away from home. I learned tinikling, made various Filipino foods, helped run cultural events on campus, and attended conferences to connect with colleagues from all over the east coast. I met so many wonderful people through this club! It was a joy celebrating and learning more about my culture and sharing that passion with others.
Advice To My Younger Self: Don't let the expectations of others define you; carve out your own path in life. Go where your energy is reciprocated and appreciated.
