Mr. D5 was hosted by Rutgers Camden’s FLIPS on February 29th! Our Mr. Barkada for this event was our very own Jay Guevarra! Jay wowed everyone with his amazing musical performance for the talent portion and his inspiring piece for the cultural portion. We love you, Jay!

On February 22nd, Rowan’s RUPAC hosted D5 Formal at the Adventure Aquarium in Camden, New Jersey. The event included dinner, dancing, and a live show! We had a great time dancing ~under the sea~ with the other schools in District 5!

Hosted by TCNJ’s AAA, our Mr. Barkada for PAA Bae of 2020 was Axel Delakowski! The pageant included a formal wear, talent, cultural, and Q&A portion. Axel played a beautiful piece on the piano for his talent and wowed everyone with his formal and cultural wear and his Q&A answers! We’re so proud of you, Axel!

On February 2nd, our very own Gabriel Sta. Rosa and Axel Delakowski hosted Barrio Bayanihan! The event focused on fostering deeper relationships amongst members of BKAD through the spirit of communal unity, work, and cooperation to achieve goals together. Through a series of group events, members were able to deepen bonds with familiar friends and create new bonds with new people!

On December 7th, D5 held an ice skating mixer at Penn’s Landing in Philadelphia, PA! We went to the Blue Cross RiverRink, which made for some really cute photos. BKAD had a great time meeting other students from D5 and getting to know each other better over skating and some snacks!

On December 5th, we had a White Elephant meeting. It was a great way to get everyone together one last time before Christmas break and a fun way to give out presents! We hope everyone enjoyed their gifts and of course, maligayang pasko!

On November 23rd, TCNJ hosted FIND Dialogue! We, along with other students from the other districts, used the event as a means of reflection and action on ourselves, our experiences, and our culture. We talked about preserving Filipino culture, as well as bringing awareness to issues in the Filipino community through our connections with the other schools in FIND.

On November 21st we had our Pamilya Potluck! Each Pamilya brought different dishes to share with everyone. From puto and lumpia, to spaghetti, there was something for everyone! We hope you had fun giving thanks and celebrating gratitude with us! This event was a great send-off to a restful Thanksgiving break!

On November 9th, we had Barangay, our big Fall event! Our members helped us prepare decor at our GBM, Barangay Prep. At the event, we ate some good food and watched performances by TCNJ students Jonathan Andujar and Aliya Nasir, our organization’s cultural dance groups, Tinikling, Maglalatik, and Binasuan, as well as by Voice of Hope, Princeton Academy of Martial Arts, and Project D.

On Halloween day, we had our event, Halo-halloween. Our members dressed up in their costumes and finally got to meet their new pamilyas! We also made Halo-Halo, a traditional Filipino dessert made of shaved ice, condensed milk, and a variety of sweet toppings. Happy Halo-halloween!

On September 10th, we hosted Asian Culture Night in Decker’s Social Space featuring JSA, AAA , CSA, Dragonflies, Taiko, and KSA! We had a variety of cultural foods from the organizations in PAA as well as some awesome performances. We hope you had a great time watching our talented performers and getting to know the different organizations in PAA!
