
Pistahan
BKAD held Pistahan, our annual semi-formal, on May 4th at Freddie’s Tavern & Banquet in Ewing! At the event, we celebrated the accomplishments we made together as an organization. We also had a ceremony to welcome the new Executive Board for the next coming school year. Thanks everyone for a wonderful year!

Mystique
The 26th annual Mystique of the East was held on April 28th! Mystique is TCNJ’s largest multicultural show with cultural performances representing countries like China, Japan, Korea, and the Philippines! Performances included instrumentals, traditional and modern dances, singing performances, and more.


Future is Filipina
BKAD celebrated female empowerment on March 7th with the event Future is Filipina! Hosted by our very own Joe Ballesteros and Gino Pineda, we talked about the move towards non-traditional leadership archetypes. At the event, some of Barkada’s amazing women shared their stories and experiences with the rest of the organization.


Step into the Circle
On February 28th, BKAD hosted our first-ever collaborative meeting with ASFA (Association of Students for Africa) and UL (Union Latina)! At Step into the Circle, we used the night to learn about and reflect upon our own cultural identities and how they shape who we are, as well as to learn about other cultures!


White Elephant
On December 6th, BKAD ended the semester with a White Elephant! The White Elephant was a fun and different way to do a Secret Santa that left everyone happy and smiling at the end of it all. We hope you enjoy your presents and maligayang pasko!

BKADsgiving
On November 29th, we had BKADsgiving! Each pamilya brought in their own dish, drink, or dessert to share with everyone. From traditional Filipino dishes to delicious desserts, there was something for everyone. We are so grateful for all of you and thank you for sharing your gratitude with us!

Barangay
Barangay was held on November 10th! The event had some delicious Filipino food, dancing, and professional and student performances. Our wonderful performers included TCNJ student Aliya Nasir, aReJay Ella, Princeton Academy of Martial Arts and Project D, as well as our cultural dance groups, Tinikling, Maglalatik, and Binasuan!

Halo-Halloween
On October 25, we held our Halo-halloween event! At the event, we had our awaited pamilya reveal and enjoyed some freshly made halo-halo, a traditional Filipino dessert. We also held a costume contest and revealed the winner for the ate/kuya who decorated their ading’s door the best! Happy Halo-halloween!

Asian Culture Night
On September 11th, BKAD hosted Asian Culture Night! Co-sponsored by AAA, CSA, KSA, and JSA, the event showcased the organizations in TCNJ’s Pan-Asian Alliance. BKAD’s Tinikling and Maglalatik groups performed, as well as other performance groups! We hope you had a great night filled with food, music, and dancing!
