PAA Bae

On Saturday, February 26th, JSA hosted PAA Bae, the Pan-Asian Alliance’s annual philanthropic pageant! At this event, all of the organizations in PAA shared their philanthropies’ missions with everyone, and each org held a raffle (with some pretty awesome prizes!) to raise money for their philanthropies! Each org in PAA also had a contestant for the night, who would show off their cultures and talents with everyone!

Our Miss Barkada, Nina Rodriguez, did such an amazing job! She wowed the crowd with her general talent — playing Somewhere Over the Rainbow on the flute <3 She also performed Karatong — a traditional Filipino folk dance that finds its origins in Palawan! Lastly, she showed off the beauty of Filipino culture through her presentation of the Filipiniana and got some tears from the crowd with her amazing Q&A answers :,)

Special shoutout to pageant dad Eli, who was Nina’s manager throughout the process! We are so proud of you and all the hard work you’ve done this semester, Miss Barkada <3 We love you very, very much! #NeedSomeNina
