Barrio Fiesta

The first ever Barrio Fiesta was this past Saturday at the Intercultural Center! Neighborhoods all throughout the Philippines hold barrios to celebrate the things that they hold dear, like patron saints, historical heroes, and important historical dates! We wanted to bring the traditional spirit of the barrio to celebrate our success these past 15 years, the achievements we’ve made this year, and you, our wonderful genboard!

The night started off with food from KNI! We had everyone’s favorite Filipino dishes on deck - from vegetable chopsuey to chicken adobo, and of course, lechon kawali! We also had some empanadas, and who could possibly forget the puto and turon?

Afterwards, we played some familiar Filipino party games! Shoutout to Devon Pham, who was our Bring Me champion of the night! We also split up into teams to play Singing Bee, did some line dancing, and finally ended the night with open-mic karaoke!

Thank you everyone for making this event a great success <3 Mahal na mahal ka namin! / We LOVE you!
